The studio design task was to produce a documentary
based on a fictional situation related to an urban environment. Taking the Object
Oriented Ontology theory as starting point, the students had to defamiliarize
objects and recombine them to produce new entities afterwards. The resulting
object needs to be unified avoiding the idea of collage . We were trying to
figure out certain questions like what makes an object familiar? what specific
compositional changes would then defamiliarize them? or what are the images
that we recognize as real?
